We recently received a copy of the New 2019 Hess Truck Encyclopedia written by Michael Roberto for review. Well, soon after we started reading, we found ourselves unable to put the book down taking in all the incredible detailed information and pictures included in this book. Even for the seasoned Hess collector that seems to think that there is nothing new that they can learn, this book quickly makes you sit back and say, “I didn’t know that!” Mike has taken years of endless passion for this great hobby of collecting Hess Toy Trucks and incorporated all that information in this edition. He methodically breaks down the years from start to finish of each full size and mini edition trucks right down to the different variations of oil drums for the 1975/1976 Hess Box Truck! Probably one of our favorite sections in the book is the limited editions, “in house” items and even some rare prototypes you would probably never get a chance to see otherwise. Mike also shows detailed pictures of the original Hess advertising signs, cashier’s buttons, collectible bags and promotional Holiday cards. Last but not least, he even has a section with some of the unique “custom” pieces created by Hess collector’s with amazing imaginations. In short, you will find yourself referring back to this book over & over. We highly recommend this book for any Hess collector whether young, old, beginner or a seasoned Hess enthusiast! Enjoy some of the page pictures!
